This workshop will be a joint-county workshop. \n— \nPlease join the Georgia Conservancy for an Interactive Workshop to discuss the long-term resiliency and protection of our coastal salt marsh. \nThese workshops will be hosted at six locations throughout coastal Georgia and will feature speakers\, mapping resources\, videos\, and interactive stations designed to foster a community conversation regarding threats to our coastal marshlands and opportunities for restoration and conservation of marshland now and in the future. These workshops aim to engage community members\, academic institutions\, agencies\, and everyone who cares for our coastal marshlands in an open discussion that will form the basis of the Georgia SASMI Implementation Workplan. \nRegister for the workshop here. \nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:Chatham County Native Plant Sale & Tree Giveaway\nSaturday\, March 30 • 10 AM – 2 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChatham County residents are invited to the third annual Chatham County Native Plant Sale & Tree Giveaway\, a free spring event with a focus on the importance of native plants and trees. The event will be Saturday\, March 30\, at the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens from 10am to 2pm.\n\nThe spring event focuses on the importance of native trees and plants to our community and will host kid-friendly educational activities by Chatham County’s Stormwater Program and others. Chatham County and the City of Savannah will host a Stormwater Quality & Water Wise Landscaping station. The Chatham County Master Gardener Extension volunteers will have an Ask a Master Gardener booth. Jonny Boy Cookies will also be on-site for refreshments.\n\nLocal plant vendors\, Savannah Victory Gardens\, NatureScapes of Beaufort\, Florabundance Gardens\, and the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens will have a selection of species for sale that will thrive in our coastal environment.\n\nLocal nonprofit Savannah Tree Foundation will have 600 trees native to the coastal Georgia region to give away for FREE! Residents can come learn about the benefits of trees and pick out up to 2 trees for their own yard! The trees are sponsored by State Farm® through the Arbor Day Foundation T.R.E.E. program and by the Georgia Tree Council.\n\nAll sale plants and giveaway trees are first come\, first served. Limit two trees per person.
