Naturalist 101: From Seeds to Shoreline: Nursery Production of Native Plants for Salt Marsh Restoration (Lecture)

Thursday, April 9 @ 7 PM • OHM Savannah Office

Living on Georgia’s coast, we are surrounded by hundreds of thousands of acres of salt marsh. Dr. Heather Joesting is an Associate Professor of Biology at Georgia Southern University in Savannah. With over 20 years of experience working with coastal plants, Dr. Joesting has established a research program at Georgia Southern University focused on the reproductive ecology and nursery production of the dominant salt marsh grass, Spartina alterniflora.

Join us for this fascinating lecture, where we’ll discuss the critical role of Spartina in the salt marsh ecosystem and how Dr. Joesting and her students actively contribute to the protection and restoration of this iconic habitat.
