Bitter SouthernerNaturalist 101: An Evening with Jim Barger, Author of Jimmy Carter: Rivers & Dreams (Lecture)
Thursday, May 15 • OHM Office (Brunswick) @ 7 PM
Come along as we learn about the life and legacy of President Jimmy Carter. Author Jim Barger will read from his book, emphasizing President Carter’s environmental record and his impact on conservation in Georgia and the Georgia coast in particular (e.g. Lewis Island, Egg Island, Altamaha River corridor). He will also discuss the Carters’ interest in regenerative farming, protection of pollinators and pollinator habitat, and native wildflower meadow restoration. This promises to be an engaging discussion featuring little-known stories and insight into the incredible life of our 39th President.
Join us at OHM’s Brunswick office (7 Glynn Ave., Brunswick) on Thursday, May 15. Doors open at 6:30 pm with light refreshments served. The lecture begins at 7 pm, with Q&A to follow. We will also be selling Jim’s book, Jimmy Carter: Rivers & Dreams (Rods, Reels & Peace Deals Plus the One That Got Away). This event is free, but we ask that you RSVP so we can plan accordingly. This event will be livestreamed via Facebook; please tune in and participate virtually if you can’t make it in person!
