NATURALIST 101: The Treasures of Blackbeard Island NWR
Thursday, November 14 • 7:00 PM (EST)
The National Wildlife Refuge System is an unparalleled network of public lands and waters managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife System. Across Georgia’s coast, National Wildlife Refuges provide critical sanctuary for key and endangered species, opportunities for research supporting conservation and heritage preservation efforts, and growing practices in responsible land management.
Join us at the OHM office (7 Glynn Ave, Brunswick) on Thursday, November 14 to hear unique stories and insights into one of our coast’s most fascinating barrier islands. In this Naturalist 101 lecture, “The Treasures of Blackbeard Island National Wildlife Refuge,” Kimberly Hayes, manager of multiple NWR areas on Georgia’s coast, will share more about the establishment and management of Blackbeard and other important wild spaces.
Doors open at 6:30 pm. Light refreshments will be served. The lecture begins at 7 pm, with Q&A to follow. This event is free, but we ask that you RSVP so we can plan accordingly. This lecture will not be recorded or livestreamed.
This event is free and open to the public. RSVP at OneHundredMiles.org/N101-Blackbeard-Lecture
