- Over 750,000 Georgians are represented by City Councils and Commissions that have passed local resolutions opposing oil and gas development.
- During the 2019 General Assembly, the Georgia House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed HR 48, a resolution opposing oil and gas development and seismic testing off Georgia’s coast. Watch the press conference announcing the state resolutions.
- Many of you wrote to Governor Kemp, thanking him for his statements to the media that he opposes oil and gas exploration and drilling off Georgia’s coast and asking that he make his position official and send a letter to the US Department of Interior.
- One Hundred Miles, joined 9 other state and national organizations, East Coast municipalities and state officials to sue the National Marine Fisheries Service to keep seismic airgun blasting out of the Atlantic Ocean.
Oil Protection Act 1990 Forum
The OPA 90 Forum consists of professional mariners, scientists, shipping companies, and maritime lawyers working together to guide oil clean-up efforts, inform liabilities, and establish immunity for responders to spills. OHM currently serves as a board member for OPA 90.
